- 30 years of experience in the tax policy and advocacy field
- 19 years of experience as the lead in-house tax policy counsel to a Top 10 Fortune 500 company and 15 years as the Head of Global Tax Policy
- As the Head of Global Tax Policy, established and managed internal company Global Tax Policy Team which coordinated tax policy issues worldwide and served as In-house coordinator for company work on the OECD BEPS project
- Lead in-house company tax counsel for all US federal corporate and international tax policy issues including both in-bound and out-bound issues covering strategy development through advocacy on the issues before the Congress and Treasury and all US federal energy tax policy issues
- Successfully managed in-house communication to the C-suite and other Senior Management and the Board on US and global tax policy issues and managed annual in-house Global Tax Policy meetings for 15 years as well as numerous internal company training sessions, meetings and presentations and the company website on global tax issues
- Successfully represented company in Washington on tax policy issues in the context of “crisis” policy management
- Served as Majority Tax Counsel to the House Ways & Means Committee for 5 years from 1985-1990 covering the 1986 Tax Reform Act and the 1987, 1988 and 1989 major tax bills with responsibility for formulating revenue proposals; drafting legislation and Committee reports; negotiating W&M majority positions with Treasury and other Congressional staffs, briefing the Chairman, other Committee members and the press on legislative proposals; and coordinating Committee hearings.
